confest is a very different festival, with no paid staff, just volunteers. no sound systems or stages, but they do have a silent disco – 90 pairs of wireless headphones and a transmitter. yoink! volunteered his dj services, and played for 4 hours down by the river. as it was a beautifully relaxed weekend in the bush, yoink! threw down some serious yang energy to balance things out. this is the most cranking section of that 4 hr set, going from totally tropical house to blistering bass-krunk shockouts, down to some ambient tech-step groovers. listen out for audio recorded at peter gleeson’s spontaneous choir, and some naked vocalising from the steam room, mixed with joy orbison’s ‘so derobe’
this one was very special. a beautiful day, a beautiful crowd, at the beautiful rainbow serpent festival. hugo took us on a magical journey from the dusty earth, through a swirling people vortex, to a huge throbbing cuddle puddle of smiling humans. watch out for the hd video coming soon (thanks boris!)
